I realized today that something was amiss here on Substack. Somehow, I’m sure quite by accident, this platform decided only paid subscribers should receive Letters to My Generation. This bizarre platform reset has been corrected and I will keep an eye on it for all publications going forward.
If you did not receive today’s Letter, it is live now on the homepage.
Don’t worry, we can feel safe that Substack is not engaging in bizarre, algorithmic shadow banning practices like Meta!
Thank you, readers, for sharing this space. We’re in this together. As Joan Didion said, we tell ourselves stories in order to live—we are narrative driven creatures, and at a time when the narrative is being hijacked, all our voices matter.
Love,
Padraic
Good to hear from you, Pori! I severed all ties to meta a few months ago, and lost communication with some dear friends. I hope you’re doing well, despite the chaos. Am Carmel Marshmallow on Blue Sky, if you’re over there. Keep writing! Xox C
